album: DIXANADU is the fourth
album form Moi dix Mois, in fact the third full-lenght one since the
release of
NOCTURNAL OPERA in 2004. This is also the first album
released with the new complete lineup: Mana on guitars (and keyboards),
Seth on vocals, K on guitar and some vocals, Sugiya on bass and Hayato on
drums. DIXANADU is a word
coined by Mana by combining the word "dix" (typical flag representing Moi
dix Mois and their world) and "Xanadu" meaning "utopia" or "heaven". In
fact XANADU was the name of the capital city of Kublai Khan's great Mongol
Empire, as reported by Marco Polo in his book "Il Milione". The spledour
of that city inspired also poets like Samuel Coleridge and "Xanadu" has
become a metaphor for opulence and utopian city. The album contains 12 tracks.
The first one, dispell bound, is a long introduction (with vocal
lines, not like common instrumental intros). Track 9 (A Lapis Night's
Dream) is a short interlude with a baroque organ fugue and the last
track, sacred lake, is a instrumental outro. Last Temptation
is a remake of an older Moi dix Mois song, tentation, originally released
on
Dix infernal. The same for neo pessimist, a remake of
Pessimiste (originally on
Dix infernal too). Lamentful Miss was
previously released as a
single, and it was re-recorded (almost identical to the single version). The album comes with a 12 pages
booklet with lyrics and photos. First press included a poster. The European version of the
album was released by Trisol short after the Japanese version. All details
here.
